GOTVoters Online™: This is the name of our online GOTV (Get Out The Vote) software. If you use GOTVoters Online™ to manage your contacts with voters and to GOTV on Election Day, you will increase the probability that you will get elected.
Voter: Voters are the people who are officially registered to vote in your election district.
Voter Lists: These are the official lists of registered voters produced by the states as required by the federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA). States typically include 0% to 20% of voters' phone numbers. Voter-Lists.com can add more phone numbers by using other resources.
Campaign Administrator: This is the person who assigns voters to your Campaign Workers and who sets up campaign issues and activities using our Campaign Architect software. Only one person can use your Campaign Administrator Account at any one time.
Campaign Architect: This is the administrative software at GOTVoters Online™ that allows your Campaign Administrator to manage Campaign Workers' responsibilities. It enables your administrator to define which voters each of your Campaign Workers can view, and to define the issues and activities that your campaign will track.
Campaign Worker Account: These online accounts provide access to your voter database over the Internet using browsers like Internet Explorer or Firefox. These accounts are used by your campaign volunteers and staff to reach voters and to record and track voter issues, activities, and more. A GOTVoters Online™ account comes with five (5) Campaign Worker Accounts. Just one person can use each Campaign Worker Account at any one time. Additional Campaign Worker Accounts can be purchased in blocks of five or more.
Campaign Worker: A Campaign Worker is one of the volunteers or staff who logs in to a Campaign Worker Account.
Seat: A Seat is our synonym for one (1) Campaign Worker Account.
Sort: Sorting allows a Campaign Worker to change the order of voter data. For example, a Campaign Worker may sort voters by phone number when calling voters to help avoid duplicate calls to other voters with the same phone number. Alternatively, Campaign Workers may sort voters by street name and number (walking order) when canvassing door-to-door.
Filter: Demographic filtering allows Campaign Workers to screen and temporarily narrow their voter lists to subsets that match specific demographic criteria. For example, if a Campaign Worker wants to view only women voters living in the town of Springfield, then he or she would set the Gender filter to Female and the Town filter to Springfield.
Rating: Ratings are Campaign Workers' assessments of a specific voter's support for the candidate. GOTVoters Online™ has a 5-point rating scale where 5 = Very Supportive. Whenever a Campaign Worker rates a voter, the date and name of the Campaign Worker are tracked and displayed also. Multiple ratings may be assigned to each voter, by one or more Campaign Workers. You can see how ratings change over time.
Issue: Issues are topics about which your campaign wants to track voter opinions. Examples of issues are roads, taxes, and schools. The Campaign Administrator can create or delete as many issues as needed. To make data entry quick and consistent, the Campaign Administrator standardizes issues, so that Campaign Workers can choose responses from lists. Campaign Workers can capture voters' opinions on these issues via phone banking or neighborhood canvassing, once or over a period of time.
Activity: Activities record your campaign's interactions with each voter. Examples of activities are mailings, phone calls, house visits, and yard sign requests. The Campaign Administrator can create or delete activities as needed. Campaign Workers record these voter-specific activities as they occur.
Advanced Filter: In addition to demographic filtering, the voter database can also be filtered on a combination of ratings, issues, and activities. This feature lets you target your activities to make your campaign funds work more effectively. For example, by selecting voters with an Undecided rating and Schools as a Very Important issue, you can target a mailing about Schools to voters where your message is most likely to help you get elected.
